Walk in Viveros Park and dinner in Condesa

Andrew & Mariana’s apartment is right across the street from Viveros Park, a combination tree nursery and public park. There is a 1.2 mile pathway around the perimeter of the park that is popular with walkers and runners. The nursery was founded by Miquel Angel de Quevedo in the early 20th century as a way to provide seedings for Mexico City. Between 1913 and 1914, 140,000 trees were planted. Today the nursery produces one million seedlings a year mostly for projects around Mexico City.

After walking in the park, we did some more walking in the neighborhoods surrounding the park.

We decided to visit another neighborhood of Mexico City, Condesa. With wide, tree-lined streets, stately art nouveau mansions, and Art Deco apartment buildings, Condesa has a European vibe.

We had a delicious dinner that included sampling Mexican specialties such as enchilada with mole sauce and Mexican street corn.

Our final stop for the night was to have churros dipped in very thick Mexican hot chocolate, a traditional Mexican dessert.
